Natick Earth Day Festival Event Schedule

Page history last edited by Brinley 12 years ago

NED Festival Event Schedule, Sunday April 22, 2012, 11 - 3, Natick Common

Please note that this is a rain or shine event. Most of these events take place in front of the Gazebo on Natick Common - please come enjoy Earth Day with us - even though there will be some food at the event, this is Earth Day and we think that it is in keeping with our mission of celebration to invite you to bring your own lunch and enjoy a picnic on the lawn during the festivities.

11:10 AM - Street Sweepers and Vactor Trucks; A demonstration from Natick DPW, check out these cool and important Department of public works vehicles - why they matter - and it's not just to make our streets 'pretty'. On the corner of common Street and Park Street, Natick Common.

11:30 AM - The Lorax (I Speak for the Trees!); a dramatic reading by the Natick High School award winning speech team. At the Gazebo on Natick Common.

12:00 PM - "Bird of Prey" - A live animal demonstration; Hawks, Falcons, Owls and vultures - what's native and why they matter (sponsored by Roche Brothers, thank you!) At the Flag Pole on Natick Common.

1:00 PM - Gypsy Blue; a great local band, Rock and Hard Blues mixed with Alternative Rock  - these guys are great - they do covers and their own originals - check them out on youtube and then get rocking on the Common with us. At the Gazebo on Natick Common.

We will meet at the Monument on the Natick Common and enjoy a walk and talk around the Common describing the trees and their needs with plenty of time for questions.

2:00 PM - The Walnut Hill Singers; will perform some art songs/arias and a scene or two from their recent opera Cinderella.

2:40 PM - Street Sweepers and Vactor Trucks; A demonstration from Natick DPW, check out these cool and important Department of public works vehicles - why they matter - and it's not just to make our streets 'pretty'. On the corner of common Street and Park Street, Natick Common.
